En route to Puray Falls

When we speak of Montalban, Wawa comes firsts. I wasn't aware that there's such a thing as Puray Falls in the vicinity of Rizal.

Barangay Puray is one of the most isolated areas in Montalban, Rizal and I didn't know how the hell Elbert and our friend Azul discovered this place. All i remember was that we took a tricycle that shuttled us to the area near the falls. Pero, am telling you, the trail was such a bad ass.If only I could film our ordeal inside the tricycle...jusme. I would probably win for the best in scream contest. It's a punishment! (Ha-Ha)

How did we get there...alive (lol):

From bayan sports center in Marikina, we took a private van (c/o Ate Pia) and headed to Montalban, Barangay Mascap (Oh boy getting there wasn't easy!). It took us nearly an hour to finally reach the place. We parked at the barangay station and asked manong caretaker of the barangay office to look after our van.

From Mascap, we took a per kontrata tricycle service offered by manong who charged us P200 per tricycle one-way.  Tricycle were running out so we really had no choice but to give in. We just desperately want to reach the falls ;p

So after gruesome bone cracklin' tricycle experience....finally!!! Puray falls!!!

Going back to Barangay Mascap was quite opposite of going to. Trail was relatively easier.

It was such an exhilarating experience going to Puray Falls. Pero would I do it again? Hmm... ;p

thanks to Elbert for the group hug!

  5. Take Montalban jeep/fx and tell driver to drop you off going to Avilon Zoo. Right side n'ya is gas station (not sure if flying v or sea oil). Sa kabilang side nun gas station, may mga tricycle dun. Ask locals na lang or the tryk drivers to take you to Puray:)

  7. Hi ma'am Veronica! I was wondering how long the trek took you. I am planning to take newbies with me who never tried the pleasure of the great outdoors. Thanks!

  8. Hi Jaye-r,

The trek itself was pretty quick. Roughly 30 minutes. Tryk driver took us to the babaan (unloading zone) going to the river/falls. From there, we trek.

    Good luck and enjoy Puray!
