A (Rainy) Day in Phillip's Sanctuary

It's the most spacious team building venue I've ever been into. But I blame typhoon Odette for the heavy downpour. We were soaked in the rain and weren't able to maximize what Phillip's Sanctuary has to offer.

Phillip's Sanctuary is a family owned 12-hectare farm land tucked in the lush green mountains of Antipolo Rizal.  It is named after the owner's son Ensign Philip Pestaño. The place boasts a rich ecosytem which makes it a perfect haven to stress away from the "concrete jungle".

Phillip's Sanctuary offers its place for various recreational activities such as camping, retreats, nature tripping, trekking, swimming, biking, etc.  They have facilities that cater to your desired outdoor activities whether with group of friends or family.

Briefing by Lhen, our facilitator

Phillip's sanctuary also provides facilitators who serve as the "trainers" or "camp masters" to ensure proper briefing, guidance and safety while doing the group activity.  However, a group must have atleast 15 members to avail their services for free.

Since nothing fruitful really happened during our stay (ha-ha), I just took sometime walking around armed with umbrella, waterproof jacket and camera. Sayang naman our stay.

Tension wire! It's pretty easy. (naks!). Water is 7 feet deep.

If you think crossing on a log like you see below is easy, think again. It was such an ordeal! I've attempted A LOT of times but I wasn't victorious. I was anxious that I might trip over and knock my head off. (Wooo-shooo!)

crossing the hanging bridge? a walk in the park! (lol)

Ate Pia and Dewi did kayaking

Clean toilets. Check. Designated smoking area. Check. Kids playground. Check. Overlooking. Check. Friendly staff. Check. Overall impact (contest?). Check.

walking around the place while singing in the rain (he-he)

How about a plunge in this pool after all the activities?

Part of the team building package: AM snack, Lunch and PM snack. Food's just right. Nothing fancy. Thanks to my friend Chey who brought a lot of chips to munch!

spaghetti (am snack), pork chop with ensaladang talong (lunch) and palabok (pm snack); coffee is P15.00 (not free)

Joseph fancies spaghetti big time! (Peace, Tep!). Thank you Dewi for the suka modeled by Marian ;p

free marang!

So much activities that I missed! Log jam, mud slide, mud crawl, rowing, spider web, crossing the "acid" river, zip line, etc. There were groups who were of the same schedule as ours who did these albeit heavy rains. Thumbs up!

We waited for our PM snacks to be served, and then we packed up to go home.

How to get there:

Commuting is definitely not a bright idea going to Phillip's Sanctuary. Walk-ins are not accepted. You need to book your stay.

I'm such a train wreck when it comes to direction. I am leaving this to Google map (ha-ha). All I remember is that we passed by Masinag, Antipolo going Cogeo and then I saw Heaven's Gate. But worry not. Once booked, Phillip's Sanctuary provides map going to their place.

  2. Hi,
This is Ara, from Jesus the Peacemaker Christian Church. Can I use some of your photos of Phillip's Sanctuary. Their website is currently down so I've got no source of photos to use in our promo material (AVP, poster) for our camp this year. Your pictures will be shown internally lang naman, both in our church avp's and closed fb group.

    Best,
    Ara :)
