Photowalk in Baguio City

Wright Park
Lush greens
Cool breeze
Stunning mountain views
Relaxing ambiance
The perks of Baguio and these are just a few.

Situated in the province of Benguet in Northern Luzon, Baguio City is generally 6-7 hour drive from Metro Manila. You may bring a car, rent a private van or travel via bus for a fare of at least Php600.00 one-way. Check out Victory Liner and Genesis Transport which offer more convenient and relaxed transit. Contact them for updated pricing, schedule and terminals. (Tip: buy tickets in advance especially during holidays to ensure seats).

Baguio used to be an ultimate travel destination back in the days (when piso air fare is still a taboo!) Popularly known as the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio offers an appealing blend of rural and urban style.

There are many interesting places to visit in Baguio City that become a tourist destination for years:

1. Burnham Park
2. Botanical Garden
3. Camp John Hay
4. Baguio Cathedral
5. Wright Park
6. Mines View Park
7. Philippine Military Academy
8. Kennon Road
9. Lourdes Grotto, etc. etc.

Baguio is also known for its flower festival called “Panagbenga” (meaning: season of blooming) which happens every month of February. It’s a month long local festivity with various activities which highlights flower and float parade (Baguio's version of Rose Parade of US).

I took off from work to witness my first Panagbenga. We were informed to get up early dawn to get a good view of the colorful street parade. Likewise, to avoid the hassle of extreme traffic. And for some reason I can't explain, I decided to stay in bed. Okay, I must admit, I was tempted to sleep. Weather was perfectly cool and the only thing I had in mind was to sleep (yeah, right).

To save myself from shame (ha-ha), we decided to do a photowalk around Baguio which was tiring yet we had a lot of fun. Enjoy some of the shots we had!

I hope next time I'll be able to catch the float parade and street dance for real. No more comfy sheets for me!  ;P
