Captivating Caleruega

Closer to nature. Closer to God.

If you’re looking for a place that offers nothing but genuine tranquillity, Caleruega is for you. It’s a prayer and meditation haven, a perfect venue for soul searching and spiritual renewal. The place captures invigorating landscapes, breath taking view of lush mountains and sacred visuals that are truly nourishing to mind, body and spirit.

I went to Caleruega with my family and love ones on a cool literally and figuratively speaking) Saturday afternoon after an appetizing lunch in Bulalo Point, Tagaytay. This is my very first travel for year 2013 and I was very excited. Situated in Nasugbu, Batangas, Caleruega is estimated 20 – 30 minute drive from Tagaytay City rotonda (roundabout). The place is very accessible to both private and public transport.

Transfiguration Chapel

Transfiguration Chapel

Caleruega is best known for its Transfiguration Chapel which is a popular venue for church weddings. This 150-seat capacity chapel is beautifully built with bricks with amazing glass-stained interior encapsulating Jesus Christ, Moses and Elijah. We were fortunate that there’s no wedding ceremony at the time we visited. We had more time to appreciate the beauty of the chapel and of course had more quiet time to reflect.
