Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Hornbill Restaurant and Cafe

My father loves Hornbill. He kept on telling me that I should try it out the next time I visit my ate. I have other restaurants in mind to visit for our first day in our recent trip to Kuala Lumpur. But my ate have other plans and eating in Hornbill is one of them.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Titiwangsa Lake Gardens (Night Shoot)

My sister and brother in law took us to Titiwangsa Lake Gardens to show where Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz's film I Miss You Like Crazy was filmed at (ha-ha). After our night shoot, we watched the movie in the comfort of my KL home (nuks!) but I fell asleep and wasn't able to catch the Titiwangsa scene. (ha-ha)

Marikina City: Beeffalo by Hotrocks

I rarely pass by Gil Fernando Avenue, Marikina. The only restaurant I know in that area is Alexei's Diner and Café which is one of my loves. To my surprise, a well conceived food haven is discretely lounging towards the stretch of Gil Fernando going SSS Village. And it’s been waiting for me in months now ;p

Marikina City: Alexei's Diner and Cafe

I've been to Alexei's on several occasions already and I swear I didn't even bother taking photos of its food. Probably I was way too complacent, thinking that I can always go there anytime I want because it's just 15-20 minutes from our house. (Actually, I am a professional procrastinator - lol).

SM Megamall: Tim Ho Wan

Tim Ho Wan opened its Manila franchise in SM Megamall sometime May of this year. My friends who visited the restaurant rave so much about it. My InstaGram account can attests to that ;p

So what's with the long and winding queue at Tim Ho Wan? I went to Megamall just recently to find out myself.

Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte: 7 Things You Might Want to Consider Before Going to Calaguas

Getting to Calaguas Island is no walk in the park. Unlike the ever famous Boracay Island which in my opinion is the most accessible world class beach getaway, Calaguas requires a lot of spending in time and effort to experience its raw beauty, untouched by domination of commercialsm.

Calaguas, Camarines Norte: Enchanting Beauty Worth a Thousand Miles

My colleagues were “pestering” me (pestering? ang mean! Ha-ha) to arrange a weekend getaway after a big function in the office. Since I’ve been very busy with various personal and office concerns, I opted to get the services of Biyahe Lokal which I’ve been wanting try out since it’s being managed by one of my favourite bloggers (and photography idol by the way), Biyaherong Barat (Jed Rosell).

KL, Malaysia: Nando's Peri-Peri Chicken

One of my friend who's staying in Singapore told me not to leave Malaysia without eating in Nando's. It's one of the most popular peri-peri chicken restos not only in Malaysia but in the world (i guess). I googled "peri-peri chicken" and Nando's showed up practically every pages. Cool.

KL, Malaysia: Menara KL Tower

After our visit from the super jam-packed IKEA (yes! there's IKEA in KL!), my sister's family took us to Menara KL Tower for a quick trip. I initially wanted to eat there because there's a revolving restaurant called Atmosphere 360 situated in this famous tower. But due to time constraints, plan was put to junk.

Singapore: Train (MRT) Experience

I've been very vocal about how awful my sense of direction is. My memory is very poor when it comes to "how to get there". Good thing Elbert's memory is sharp. He's my human compass and I am glad he's always around to do the "mapping" ;p

Singapore: Parc Sovereign Hotel

Looking for a boutique hotel in Singapore that offers full accommodation service like large hotel style? Well, Parc Sovereign Hotel maybe the one you're looking for.

Sta. Ana, Cagayan: Costa Carina Beach Front and Food Finds

Our Costa Carina experience was such a good one.  Why? I think everyone knows  exactly where it is. From Tuguegarao City, just tell your shuttle van driver to drop you off to Costa Carina and they will gladly take you there with no fuss.

Tuguegarao and Peñablanca: A Brief Visit

Tuguegarao is located at the northern part of the Philippines and is the capital city of Cagayan Province. It has captured the hearts of travel enthusiasts primarily because of old treasured structures and notable spots like the hundred year old Basilica of Our Lady of Piat and the amazing Callao Caves.

Pundakit, San Antonio Zambales: Sea Warrior

A fisherfolk in San Antonio, Pundakit, Zambales, sews his lambat (net)  under the shade. Manong was very 'game' as I took his portraits. ' Promised that I will give him a copy when I return to Pundakit.

Pundakit, Zambales: Canoe Beach Resort

I wouldn’t be blogging about Canoe if I didn’t like our experience there. Obviously, there’s a reason to come back in Pundakit, and I told myself, next time, I’ll bring my family with me.

Pig Out : Seafood by the Bay Subic

After our Pundakit-Nagsasa escapade, we decided to take our lunch in Subic which is an hour away from San Antonio. Undecided where to eat exactly, we passed by Waterfront Road in Free Fort Zone and spotted Sea Food by the Bay restaurant with a signage P399.00 buffet.

Journey to Nagsasa Cove

Hiatus mode is finally over! My itchy feet are back on track. Naka-recover na ako sa South Korea visa ko (ha-ha). Sabi nga ni Effie Trinket “Eyes bright, chin up, smiles on.”

First 2014 destination: Nagsasa Cove!

KL, Malaysia: Sri Mahamariamman Temple

It was interesting to see the colorful Hindu statues in Sri Mahamariamn Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sri Mahamariamman Temple is said to be the oldest and richest temple in KL.

The said temple is open to the public. No entrance fee. As the place is considered sacred by our Hindu brothers and sisters, visiting tourists and faithful worshipers are required to take off their sandals before entering. For women, shorts, mini skirts and pants are not allowed. It’s best to bring a long skirt or wrap.

A Walk to Batu Caves

Our first activity in Malaysia is a half-day trip to Batu Caves. This sacred destination is located in Selangor, approximately 20-minute ride from Kuala Lumpur.

Armed with my day trip essentials, we went to Batu Caves via taxi from KLCC (Kuala Lumpur Convention Center). Along the highway of Selangor, I could see the biggest Hindu deity statue I've ever seen in my entire life. It was striking in gold, and yes it's awesome!

A Light of a Father's Smile

A loving smile of a father after her child went into Mundan rite in Malaysia. A Mundan or Chadakarana ceremony is an important rite of passage of Hindu communities for babies or children. Mundan is believed to give a child a good and long life. The Mundan ceremony is the child's first hair cut. It's meant to cleans their body and soul, relieves pain from teething, protects child from the evil, etc.

A sort of cream or paste on the child's shaved head is a mixture turmeric and sandalwood. It is believed to cool the head and helps nicks and cuts heal.

Mama Chit's Coffee House

No doubt in my mind that Burgoo's burger compliments my taste buds. I've tried sumptuous sliders and burgers. But, Mama Chit's burgers...oh, boy....I wanna do a blind taste test. Ask me why? Muy delicioso!

Happy New Year! Cheers to one and all!

I wish I could write down my travel bucket list. But, I am sparing myself (this time) from the pressure of having to accomplish all of 'em. I'll phase this time.  I'll take time. I'll plan wisely.

I found from venturebeat.com something very nice to read.
 It's very lovely!

Anyways, blessed new years ahead!
